Shukura lost 28 pounds

Shukura lost 28 pounds with healthier eating habits and HIIT workouts. Her wake-up call came in April when her blood work showed elevated cholesterol numbers. She decided to reach out to a Keto program that a friend told her about for help and guidance.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My friend was already doing the Keto Fine AF program and had invited me months before. I avoided it because I wasn’t prepared to make a big commitment. Then, on April 15th, I found out my cholesterol was slightly elevated and contacted Dye with Keto Fine AF early the following day at about 3 am. I couldn’t sleep. I was terrified of having abnormal blood work. I knew I had to make a change, and I knew Dye was the best person to assist me.

I’m doing clean keto! I’m not limited to protein. I make sure that I eat healthy fats and limit my carb intake (which comes from green veggies). I have 7 cups of green veggies a day, lean protein, and some good fats! Initially, I thought I had to give up everything until I found out there are many ways to make unhealthy food healthy! I love pasta & pizza! I’ve had both doing clean keto!

What did your workout routine consist of?
Let me start by saying that accountability partners are ESSENTIAL for weight loss and lifestyle changes. Shoutout to my husband and best friend, Courtney! I work out five days a week doing fasted HIIT cardio. [high-intensity interval training]

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 242 pounds, and I currently weigh 214 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’1″ and a half! Don’t forget the half, lol.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started on 4/19/21, and I’m currently still on this journey. My challenge ends on 6/18, but I plan to make this a lifestyle!

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I didn’t have weight loss surgery!

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned to value myself in more ways than a manicure and pedicure. I value myself most by what I put inside my body!

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
JUST START! Stop waiting for the perfect day! Start today! Take your life back, Sis!
